Granted, the company has come a long way from it roots of selling plastic knives that appear to cut through pineapples.  So has Marketing.  Thousands of channels now span the broadcast waves and even more than that online.  So many places to get my information fix, or just watch three ding dongs girl-fight in some fancy house dressed as call girls.  Can you buy a quality product off of the TV from an infomercial?

In today’s technological business climate, it is often hard to qualify what is actually a good lead, and what may be a complete waste of time.  I can research a company within a couple of minutes online, have a pretty good idea about the company, and consider them worth my time exploring.  At the same time, any company can look online and find web solution firms, review their portfolios and determine right away if they are a fit for what they see their company needing.

Finding it hard to be optimistic?  News pundits depressing you?  Worried about the climate of your industry, or your business?  How do you find inspiration?  It may be a deep, far-fetched ideology, or may be a quick notion, but one thing is for certain, it is personal.

This blog may be considered dated.  Or maybe, that perspective is exactly what this blog addresses.  Do you Skype?  Got Go to Meeting?  Use an intranet video-teleconferencing module to communicate internally throughout your huge corporation?

As a business development associate here with Thalo Creative, I often call on people whose website does not function like it is supposed to.  That is the right customer to call on, right?  They have obviously made an effort to put something out there.  Are they aware that it doesn’t work properly?  Are they going to get upset at me, the messenger, who points it out?  Do they already know and really don’t want to talk about it?

In most cases, it is only necessary to give your visitors the information they need to take the desired action, and nothing more. The goal is to give as little information as possible while still getting them to convert. This isn’t because we want to trick our visitors or customers, but simply because the more information they have to sift through, the more likely something is to interrupt them and take them away from your site.

Often employed as a highly effective sales funnel tool on websites, do you automatically want to close a modal window that pops up to force you to make a decision at that moment?  I think a person’s curious nature, degree of urgency, or even mood at that time can make that decision for them.

Actually, it doesn’t have to have one, but why would it want one?  We'll call it, CUSTOMER SECURITY.  Meaning; when online users are looking at doing business with your company, an office at a physical address with documented staff validates the likeliness that your company is reputable and safe to do business with.

What is the definition of a sales cycle? A sales cycle is the time from when a salesperson first makes contact with a prospect to the moment when a sale is made or finalized. For example, if a copier sales rep makes a cold call from a list of prospects and reaches one, then that is the start of the sales cycle. When he finalizes the deal and delivery of the copier is made, that is the end of the sales cycle. The time in between the initial cold call and delivery is the sales cycle.

How long should a sales cycle be?

It can be an approach that is hard to swallow, but the best opportunities for businesses big and small to gain advantages in their markets are during recession economies. When the economy is weak, your competitors do not invest in growing their businesses. Advertising is pulled back, hiring is frozen, expansion projects postponed are just some of the reactionary decisions that are made.

Ahh, the smell of fresh computer, the long awaited anticipation of the delivery truck now realized, it’s Christmas in September! Most people who do not work in a technology field professionally can stretch out the life of their computer for six to eight years plus. Ridiculous that must sound to people fortunate enough to have some office job with an IT staff who budgets computer system upgrades almost tri-annually. Well, once you have removed all of the information and programs that you wish to retain from the old system, what do you do with it now?
